Over £75k raised this year and counting – and it's all thanks to your ticket sales.

TEAM TICKET TAILOR AFTER VOLUNTEERING AT FOULSHAW MOSS BOG WITH CUMBRIA WILDLIFE TRUST 2023

At Ticket Tailor, we’re passionate about using our business as a force for good. Which is why, in 2021, we launched Penny for the Planet – our ongoing commitment to donate 1p for every ticket sold through our platform to four vital environmental charities.

Since then, this simple idea has turned into something powerful – raising over £650,000 to date!

In a nutshell 🐿️: with every paid booking you make, you’re helping to protect wildlife, restore habitats, and safeguard the natural world for generations to come. We reckon you should feel pretty good about that 😌.

🎉 £75,780.86 raised between January and July 2025

From concerts to community fairs, every single paid event on Ticket Tailor has contributed towards a sizable £75.8k raised in the first half of 2025 alone! This money has been split between our incredible charity partners:

  • Rainforest Foundation UK – £17,878.22
  • Cumbria Wildlife Trust – £19,300.88
  • Ocean Conservation Trust – £19,300.88
  • Heal Rewilding – £19,300.88

🌍 How your ticket sales are saving the planet

From our planet’s vast oceans and rainforests to its bustling natural habitats, the organisations we support are working hard to protect some of the most vital corners of our globe.

Read on to learn a bit about each organisation, and the projects your ticket sales are helping them carry out.

Rainforest Foundation UK

Rainforest Foundation UK works to protect tropical rainforests and the communities who call them home. By partnering directly with Indigenous peoples, they help secure land rights, stop destructive logging, and preserve some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth. Recent projects have included mapping millions of hectares of rainforest using GPS technology to defend against illegal deforestation. It’s truly impressive stuff.

How Penny for the Planet donations are helping

Rainforests are critical for our climate, biodiversity, and clean air, yet they face relentless threats from logging, mining, and agriculture.

So far, money raised through our Penny for the Planet initiative has helped RFUK to:

  • Provide legal land rights support to over 10,000 Indigenous people across the Congo Basin, ensuring they can protect and sustainably manage their territories.
  • Expand MappingForRights, a groundbreaking digital mapping platform that helps communities clearly define and defend their forest boundaries.
  • Train forest monitors to detect and report illegal logging in real time, stopping destruction before it spreads.
  • Support women-led enterprises in forest communities, creating sustainable livelihoods that reduce reliance on deforestation.
  • Partner with local organisations to strengthen forest governance and climate resilience, ensuring rainforests — and the people who protect them — can thrive for generations.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust

The Cumbria Wildlife Trust works to protect wildlife and wild places across Cumbria, from rare flower meadows to the county’s rugged coastline. Their work includes restoring peatlands (which store vast amounts of carbon), protecting endangered species like red squirrels, and running community education programs that inspire people to connect with nature.

How Penny for the Planet donations are helping

The money raised through your ticket sales is currently fuelling a huge milestone for Cumbria Wildlife Trust – the first stages of peatland restoration at their newly acquired Skiddaw Forest Nature Reserve. This autumn, practical conservation work will begin following a detailed survey of the deep peat areas, marking the very first steps in a 100-year vision for the site.

Looking ahead, Ticket Tailor contributions will also help restore the Witherslack Mosses – a network of precious peatland habitats including Foulshaw Moss, Meathop Moss, and Nicholls Moss. These wild spaces store vast amounts of carbon, support rare species, and play a critical role in tackling climate change.

Ocean Conservation Trust

The Ocean Conservation Trust is dedicated to restoring and protecting our oceans. Their work spans from practical seagrass restoration projects – vital for absorbing carbon and providing marine habitats – to educational programs that inspire sustainable ocean stewardship. They’re also helping reduce plastic waste and tackle climate change impacts on marine ecosystems.

How Penny for the Planet donations are helping

Penny for the Planet donations are helping the Ocean Conservation Trust’s Blue Meadows program restore and protect one of the ocean’s most important but threatened habitats: seagrass meadows. These underwater ecosystems store huge amounts of carbon, support marine life, and protect coastlines – but they’re disappearing fast.

Thanks to the money raised through Penny for the Planet, the team has:

  • Restored thousands of square metres of seagrass, including planting 6,000 healthy plants and harvesting over 1 million seeds for future restoration.
  • Installed marker buoys and eco-moorings to protect seagrass from boat damage, safeguarding around 90 hectares of habitat.
  • Pioneered new restoration technology, including the OCT’o’PUS device for direct seed planting and the use of ROVs for detailed mapping and monitoring.
  • Engaged communities through 57 events, school programs, VR experiences, and partnerships with local sailors, divers, and boat users to raise awareness and inspire action.
  • Collected deep carbon cores (up to 3 metres) to measure and protect the carbon-storing power of seagrass for centuries to come.

Heal Rewilding

Heal Rewilding is working to buy land across England and allow it to return to nature, creating thriving, wild spaces for wildlife to flourish. Their first site, Heal Somerset, is already seeing exciting transformations, with new habitats forming and species returning. Their model of rewilding aims to tackle the climate and biodiversity crises at the same time.

How Penny for the Planet donations are helping

At Heal Rewilding’s Somerset site, two of the most hard-working team members are Ticket and Tailor – wild-living Tamworth pigs (with the best names ever) who act as proxies for wild boar. With their skill for turning over soil and breaking up monoculture grass, they’re creating the perfect conditions for insects, birds, and wild plants to flourish.

Penny for the Planet donations are also helping bring the Community Nature Barn to life – a dedicated space for people to connect with nature. While the build hit a few snags, local trades and volunteers are now bringing it to completion, and your support will ensure it’s fully kitted out for community use.

On top of this, funding helps with essential upkeep across the site – from repairing barn roofs and guttering to maintaining the farmhouse. Plus core operational costs that keep Heal Rewilding’s mission on track – returning land to nature and boosting biodiversity.

🙏 Thank you for making a difference

Penny for the Planet proves that small actions add up. For every ticket sold, you’ve helped protect ancient rainforests, restore ocean habitats, revive wildflower meadows, and create safe havens for wildlife.

With this in mind, we’d like to say a big thanks to everyone who’s sold tickets through Ticket Tailor this year! You’ve shown that events can be a force for good, and that by working together, we can make a real impact.
