Our B Corp journey: Recertified. Recommitted. Still Growing on Purpose.
We’ve officially recertified as a B Corp – and raised our score by 42.5%! 🎉 From Penny for the Planet donations to employee profit shares, here’s a look at how we’re still growing on purpose, three years on from our first certification.
Here at Ticket Tailor, gaining our B Corp certification is one of our proudest achievements to date. Because it means we’re held to account as a business that cares about balancing profit with purpose. For those who don’t know, B Corporations are businesses that have been assessed by an organisation called B Lab Global to ensure they meet high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. We originally certified back in 2022! 🙌
📣 So, what’s this announcement all about?
Every three years, certified B Corps are asked to prove they’ve not just maintained their standards, but improved on them. It’s one of the things that makes B Corp certification so powerful. It’s not about simply ticking a few boxes and then you’re done. It’s about consistently striving to improve, and being assessed on this over time.
So (drumroll please), we’re really proud to say that, over the past three years, we’ve done just that!
Our score has increased from 86.3 to 123. That’s a 42.5% improvement, which has us all grinning from ear to ear here at Ticket Tailor.
A quick aside: B Corp is introducing a new set of standards that’s going to be moving away from its current scoring system (more on this below). But for now, we think our score improvement is a clear representation of how much change for good has taken place at Ticket Tailor since we first certified in 2022 🙌.
Re-certification isn’t automatic – it’s a full re-evaluation, and the bar keeps getting higher. For us, re-certifying in 2025 has been a powerful moment to reflect on what’s changed since we first certified in 2022, and where we’re heading next.
💚 Why we became a B Corp in the first place
As a business, we’ve always believed in growing better, not just bigger. In other words, we want to grow our business in a way that enables us to actively have a positive impact on people and the planet; to use our business as a force for good. Which is why we were so excited to discover the B Corp movement back in 2020. It was something that meant we could follow through on our mission to be a business that walks the talk.
Ultimately, it’s never sat right with us that businesses solely focus on profit at the expense of everything else. From our first inception, we wanted to be a business that gives back. With all this in mind, going for B Corp certification was an absolute no-brainer – and we’re so glad we did.
When we began the application around 2020 we were already doing very well in some areas, but for others, it gave us the guidance and impetus to improve. It was such a worthwhile exercise – just as recertifying has been.
🌱 What’s changed since 2022
A lot can happen in three years. Although we were so happy with our initial certification, it’s been amazing to work hard towards recertifying – with an improved score – in 2025. Here’s a roundup of what that’s looked like in real terms:
Governance
- We became a certified B Corp in 2022, with an initial score of 86.3, updating our Articles of Association to formalise our commitment to have a material positive impact on society and the environment
- We moved to fellow B Corp Coutts for our business banking – they’re committed to investing responsibly and with integrity, while paving the way for a long-term sustainable financial setup
- We integrated carbon accounting into budgeting and finance processes – for example we now budget our carbon footprint for our business travel, just as we track for our budgets in terms of money
- We formalised more specific impact metrics for our business to hold ourselves to account and keep us focused on a high bar for things like employee satisfaction and carbon emissions.
Workers
- Our team has grown from 14 to 30 full-time employees between 2021 and 2025. And we’ve consistently kept our Employee Net Promoter Score (eNPS) – a metric used to gauge employee satisfaction and loyalty within an organisation – above our target of 70. In fact, in 2024 our eNPS was a staggering 89!
- We introduced annual profit shares split equally across the team. As well as the option for a £5k profit-share advance for financial flexibility.
- We implemented key wellbeing additions: a wellbeing budget, extended parental leave, a mental health first aid initiative, career frameworks, a learning and development budget, and a coaching fund.
- We offered our team members a £50 incentive for switching to renewable energy at home.
- We moved to WorkSpace, our sustainable BREEAM-certified office building and have been able to upsize our space within the same building to grow with the team.
- We provided Carbon Literacy training to six team members. And made carbon training part of our onboarding process.
- We reached a near-even gender team split.
Environment
- We reached carbon neutrality in 2021. And offset all historical emissions since our company was founded, using high-quality carbon removals like Biochar.
- We implemented annual carbon measurement and reporting.
- We consistently reduced our Scope 3 emissions intensity (down 15.7% YoY in 2024).
- We launched our Climate Impact Tracker for Event Creators in 2024, giving transparency over their personal ticketing carbon emissions (which we then offset!) as well as their Penny for the Planet contributions.
- We committed to reducing Scope 3 emissions per ticket sold by 7% year-on-year until 2030.
- We purchased only refurbished IT equipment from B Corp supplier Klyk.
- We improved our waste management and recycling in the office.
Community
- We formalised our charity donations through the creation of Penny for the Planet in 2021 – our commitment to donate 1p (1.3c) for every ticket sold through our platform to our environmental charity partners, supporting peatland restoration, rainforest protection, countryside rewilding and ocean conservation.
- We reached £500,000+ in all-time charitable donations by 2024.
- We formed a Giving Back Committee in 2020 to embed climate action into company culture.
- We formed a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee.
- We promoted diversity by partnering with B Corp suppliers.
- Our team has spent over 350 hours volunteering locally, for example, with Hackney Night Shelter.
- We launched EarthInvest: an initiative that invests in and empowers young startups to lead a new generation of sustainable businesses. EarthInvest awarded £62,500 in grants to five climate-conscious startups in 2024. And the process for 2025 is underway.
Customers
- We supported over 120,000 Event Creators across the world between 2022-2024.
- We delivered 350+ ticketing features since we certified, improving our customer experience. See everything we released in 2024, and the latest updates here.
- We implemented Platform Accessibility upgrades (WCAG 2.2).
- We maintained a world-class Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 71 – NPS is a customer experience metric that measures customer loyalty and willingness to recommend a company or product to others.
- Despite our customer base growing by 140%, we maintained our high standard of customer support – with average response times of just 1 minute 39 seconds in 2024.
- We continued offering discounts for charities, B Corps, and nonprofits.
- Thanks to our donations feature, our Event Creators have been able to raise more than £6.5M for charitable causes.
💚 What Recertification means to us
Successfully recertifying as a B Corp is a really proud moment for us. It means we’re genuinely being mindful about how we run our business, and putting in real legwork to ensure we’re improving in very tangible ways. For us, being a B Corp isn’t just about how others see us. It’s about providing ourselves with a framework to follow through on our values. It also feels really good to be part of a community of like-minded businesses.
Ultimately recertifying means a whole lot to us. It’s a crucial tie that keeps us tethered to our overarching mission and ethos. And not only that, we're proving that becoming a purpose-led business doesn't have to come at the expense of growth (just check out how the number of issued tickets has grown since we adopted Growth on Purpose).
🌳 Looking ahead: New B Corp Standards from 2025
In 2024, B Lab UK launched a major overhaul of its certification standards. After two public consultations and more than 26,000 pieces of feedback, the new standards set a higher bar for what it means to be a B Corp.
Key focus areas now include:
- Climate action
- Human rights and equity
- Fair supply chains
- Diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Ethical governance
- Risk and resilience
At Ticket Tailor, we’re really excited about this. We think it’s a natural evolution for the B Corp movement, and are already digging deep into all the ways we can meet this new set of standards – which will come into effect for all future certification and recertifications.

🌍 Support the Movement
As we keep evolving – and preparing for the new B Corp standards in our next cycle – we think it’s important to acknowledge and say a huge thanks to everyone who uses our platform. Every single one of your ticket sales makes a difference – to our planet, to communities, and to the world of ticketing, which we’re proving can be used as a force for good.
Going forward, we’ll continue publishing our annual impact updates, expanding our giving programs, and finding better ways to support the Event Creators who power our platform.
